Your Amazing Iris

Your Amazing Iris

One of the ways I get information about you is through a study of your iris (the colored part of your eye). This is the science of Iridology. Your iris is as unique as a fingerprint. No one on the planet has the same iris as you do, and a close look at it can tell us a lot about your health.

The iris is connected to every organ and tissue of your body through your brain and nervous system. The nervous system sends messages to the brain from the body, and when the brain receives these signals, they are reflected in the iris. So by looking at the iris, I am able to find out information about the state of the various organs in the body. Iridology is not a diagnostic test – in other words, it doesn’t tell me that you have a specific disease – but it is a way for me to see how well various parts of your body are working. The right side of the body is seen on the right iris, while the left side is seen on the left iris.

Iridology can be traced back to the early 1800’s and a man named Ignatz von Peczely who lived in Hungary. The story goes that as a boy, von Peczely caught an owl and in the process, the owl’s leg was broken. As he looked at the owl’s eye, he noticed a dark stripe forming in the iris. Von Peczely nursed the owl back to health and as the owl’s leg healed, the dark line in the owl’s iris began to change into a white crooked line. When von Peczely grew up, he became a physician and was able to observe the irises of many people. Over time he was able to piece together a map of the body on the iris and this map is very similar to the one used today.
